Dropittome Alternatives

Dropittome was a simple free service that allowed anyone to upload files to your Dropbox, Google Drive, or Microsoft OneDrive. It was made by the Finnish consulting company esmes, who shut it down on June 15th 2017.

Looking for a replacement service to get a simple drag-and-drop file upload page that sends files to your cloud storage? Here are three alternatives.

⭐️ Fileinbox

Fileinbox is the best alternative to dropittome. Fileinbox does everything dropittome did and more, with higher file upload limits.

dropittome Fileinbox
Simple drag-and-drop interface
Receive files via. Google Drive or Dropbox as a better alternative to Dropbox File Requests
Custom URLs (fileinbox.com/your-business-name-here)
Email notifications
Password protected file upload pages
Maximum file size100MB2GB
Embed file upload forms in your website🚫
Custom theme and whitelabeling🚫
Automatic file organizing🚫
Collect extra data (uploader email, job number, etc)🚫

Make your own Fileinbox file upload page to try it out—it takes about two minutes to get set up, and it's free for the first 20 files with no credit card required.

Fileinbox is also a great alternative to Citrix Sharefile.

Dropbox File Requests

This free service only works with Dropbox, but it does most of what dropittome did. With a Dropbox Basic account you can receive files up to 2GB. Pro or Business Dropbox accounts can receive files up to 10GB.

You can't add passcodes to protect your upload page, change where files are uploaded, or whitelabel your upload pages. Also, the upload links will look like https://www.dropbox.com/request/OuHABIe7xjismOZo3jgy instead of dropitto.me/your-business-name-here, so it's not the best option if you're trying to look professional.

Unfortunately, Dropbox File Requests are also difficult to use for non software gurus. But hey—it's free.

WeTransfer

WeTransfer is a great option if the person sending you files is moderately tech savvy. Instead of sending them to a private upload page where uploaded files go only to you, you can send them to WeTransfer with instructions to enter your email address in the "Email to" field.

WeTransfer example

WeTransfer supports sending up to 2GB of files at a time which, if you don't know what a gigabyte is, is probably more than enough for whatever you're sending.

WeTransfer is optimized for sending files instead of receiving files. So, this service doesn't make sense if you're a business trying to receive files from clients. Additionally, WeTransfer's page is kinda... weird. It's very artsy. If you want a nice professional upload page that's as simple as possible for uploaders to use, then WeTransfer is not for you.

To use WeTransfer, send your uploader to the WeTransfer home page and ask them to email it to your email address.
